Day 1:Departing 5.30am Friday morning we drive by coach stopping for lunch in Khancoban, to start Stage 1 Khancoban - Thredbo. Leaving Khancoban we have only 2 km flat before our first climb. It’s a 16 km climb. It is hard but the view is awesome and gets better as the climb keeps going and going. Over the top we have one of the best descents Australia has to offer and on almost traffic free roads. Steep, super fast corners will get your adrenalin pumping all the way to the bottom then an undulating road knocks your legs around with it’s short steep inclines until reaching the infamous dead horse gap, an 18 km climb of sheer misery followed by a fast winding 6 km descent to the finish at Thredbo Hotel. On arrival to the Thredbo Hotel, grab your key at reception and head for the shower, as it’s normally a cold finish. Warmed up and now reflecting on one of the toughest 100km rides you can do, now gives you a strong feeling of achievement. With that in mind it’s time to find dinner to refuel after that big ride Day 2:Breakfast is served in Cascades located in the heart of the village. Cascades is a long time favorite and one of Thredbo’s most renowned restaurants. Known for great food and friendly attentive service. After a full buffet breakfast we leave Thredbo and unlike yesterday it all starts out downhill until we pass the Ski Tube where we hit the first climb of the day. A short climb of only 2km and again we descend until we arrive at Lake Jindabyne. Left at the service station and downhill past the trout farm, we now start the main climb up to Perisher Village. It is long but not too steep. A solid grind but considered easy after yesterdays stage. The higher we climb the colder it gets but lucky for us our support vehicle is never to far away so we can grab some warm clothes to keep the cold out. Finely we hit the top of Australia at Charlotte Pass. Quick glances across to Mt Kosciusko before starting back down the descent back through Perisher Village, Sawpit Creek, Jindabyne before climbing back to Thredbo. With that in mind it’s time to find one of the many cafes in Thredbo for lunch to refuel after that big ride The afternoon is yours to recover, sight see up to the top of the mountain or thrill seek on the toboggan run. Whatever you choose todo the afternoon is yours. We dine at Segreto’s the signature restaurant in the Alpine Hotel. Segreto is an intimate dining experience for our tour only. The fine cuisine is carefully prepared and inspired by the cuisine of the central regions of Italy using delicious local and imported produce. Segreto was awarded as the best dining experience in a Snow Resort in this country by the Industry in 2005. Day 3:

Breakfast is served again in Cascades. After a full buffet breakfast we leave Thredbo like yesterday it all starts out downhill until we pass the Ski Tube where we hit the first climb of the day. A short climb of only 2km and again we descend until we arrive at Lake Jindabyne. Right at the service station then through Jindabyne Village before climbing out of the dam. It is long but not too steep. Once over the top it is a quick ride to Cooma as there is more down than up. On arrival into Cooma leave your bikes for your team to pack your bike ready for the trip home while you find lunch in Cooma.
